Cataract Surgery

Mr Daniel Sibley is a highly skilled and precise phacoemulsification ocular surgeon who aims to restore failing vision from cataract and eliminate glasses if desired. He is experienced in the implantation of different intra-ocular lenses (IOLs), the artificial lenses used to replace the patient´s own defective lens in cataract and for lens exchange refractive surgery.

Types of IOL

  1. Monofocal IOLs are commonly used and the patient will likely wear glasses for near or distance afterwards.
  2. Enhanced monofocal IOLs give more intermediate vision as well, reducing the need afterwards for glasses for near vision.
  3. Extended depth of focus (EDOF) IOLs provide a range of focus for near and distance, so that glasses are not required after surgery.
  4. Full range (trifocal) IOL, glasses not required after surgery.
