Mr Neo’s practice reflects a deep understanding of how different areas of eye care connect. As both a corneal specialist and advanced cataract and refractive surgeon, he ensures every treatment decision supports long-term visual quality and eye health.
He is one of a select group of UK surgeons performing DMEK (Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty) – an advanced, minimally invasive corneal transplant technique that replaces only the damaged inner layer of the cornea, resulting in a much faster recovery, superior clarity of vision, and lower transplant rejection rates.
“DMEK allows corneal transplantation to be more precise, whereby only the diseased tissue layer is replaced. This surgical technique is revolutionary and results in superior visual outcome for patients,” explains Mr Neo.
For patients considering cataract surgery, Mr Neo offers the latest premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) – from extended depth of focus (EDOF) designs to multifocal lenses that provide a wide range of targets for clear vision. Each lens is carefully chosen to suit the patient’s lifestyle, visual goals, and ocular health.
He views cataract surgery not simply as a restorative procedure, but as a refractive opportunity to enhance vision for years to come. All treatment plans are bespoke to individual patient – attending to every aspect of their visual needs.
One of Mr Neo’s specialist interests include laser refractive surgery – this includes LASIK, LASEK, SMILE and laser blended vision. Laser blended vision is a technique that allows people over 40 with signs of presbyopia (the need for reading glasses) to enjoy clear distance and near vision without reading glasses.
“It requires precise planning and careful patient selection,” Mr Neo notes. “When done correctly, most patients adapt quickly and enjoy spectacle-free vision for driving, computer work and reading.”
Mr Neo is also passionate about early intervention in childhood short-sightedness (myopia). As myopia rates rise globally, he advocates proactive management to prevent long-term complications.
His approach includes:
This continuum of paediatric eye care allows children to benefit from ongoing monitoring and transition smoothly into adult eye care when needed.

Mr Neo’s expertise enables him to manage complex cases that cross subspecialties – from corneal disease in cataract patients to dry eye in refractive candidates. At Clinica London, he provides continuity of consultant-led care from first consultation through surgery and follow-up.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Neo is actively involved in:
He is consistently regarded as a key opinion leader in treatment for corneal and ocular surface disorders. His ongoing research ensures that Clinica London patients benefit from the latest surgical advancements and evidence-based treatments.
Mr Neo will be presenting his first Clinica Academy lecture on 25th November, exploring the expanding landscape of modern intraocular lens technology. This interactive CPD session (2 GOC-approved points) will guide optometrists through IOL options – from monofocal and toric designs to cutting-edge multifocal, extended depth-of-focus lenses (EDoF), and enhanced monofocal.
Through clinical insights, optical principles, and real-world case examples, attendees will deepen their understanding of how lens choice affects postoperative vision, patient satisfaction, and long-term ocular health. The session will also explore how optometrists can enhance their co-management role – from effective patient counselling to recognising post-operative issues and managing visual phenomena.
Far from a traditional cataract update, this interactive event invites optometrists to explore the future of lens-based vision correction and discover how informed guidance can elevate both clinical outcomes and patient trust.
